The Estate of Panyam was a Princely Estate (Zamindari) in the erstwhile Madras Presidency. It was located in the Kurnool district of present-day Andhra Pradesh. Panyam was the administrative headquarters of the estate.
The founder of the family was Raja Krishna Rao, who was originally a wealthy Zamindar, residing in the district of Kurnool. The Zamindar family of Panyam belongs to the Deshastha Rigvedi Brahmin community of the Madhwa Sect. and belongs to Vishvamitra gotra.
On the death of Krishna Rao, the estate was succeeded by his elder son Raja Madhava Rao. Estate holders were:
